[Letter] 1877 March 29, Petersburg, Va. to "my dear Doctor" [John A. Broadus] / T.T. Eaton. 1877.

Eaton told Broadus that his sister wrote "from Richmond that Rev. Mr. Jackson and other Episcopalians are saying that our brother Abraham Jaeger is negotiating with reference to leaving the Baptists and joining the Episcopalians." Asks about the doctrine of Christ's agony in Gethsemane because he has consented to preach on that subject and he "was conscious of not knowing what was the gist of the whole scene." Ends by saying "That trouble in our church has all passed and we are in better condition than at any time since my ministry began here."
